I don't think he was completly ignorant about it either. My understanding is that he let the milita enter the camps. He could have been ignorant about exactly what they where going to do but he must have had some vague idea. I can't imagine that he would think everything would be sweetness and light. I think it's possible that he thought the actions would be relativly contained. But any way I try to look at it it doesn't come out good for Sharon. Either he was incompitent, or he didn't mind a little bit of violence in the camps and was reckless in letting a bad situation happen, or he knew what would happen and he wanted it to happen. Hmmm incompitent, reckless or evil. I don't think I would want to see any of those traits in a leader of a country I lived in...
