Kirby49. Don't know if anyone is interested but here is a a discussion group at the Arabia.com web site. Folks here are discussing everything from hate crimes to whether America is controlled by Jews. I think everyone has to decide, but especially the muslims who are amongst us. Not only do they have to do a better job convincing us that this is not part of their religion, but they must be percieved to be acting in that manner. There are over 1 billion followers of the different branches of Islam in the world. Some are moderate, some are extreme. And no doubt there are also Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Tutsis, Hutus etc that can also be described using the same words. I expect people of any religion (or no religion) to carry on themselves lawfully and respect all around them. I don't expect the average everyday Muslim or Jew or Catholic etc to do anything to convince me that they are not fanatical lunatics. Their behaviour will speak for themselves. Most people wake up, eat, work, sleep just like most others. Scary times indeed. I have not yet heard of Israel's retaliation for the assassination of Zeevi. I remember seeing Arafat on TV on 911 and thinking he was dead meat. Maybe the Israelis will wait for the right time to do him in with just one shot. It occurs to me that Arafat dead would be exactly what bin Laden would like. Think about it...
