Makes you wonder, huh?

Given that thousands die annually from influenza,
I've heard all I care to about anthrax.

A quick check of the headlines is about all
I care for these days.

I do however, subscribe to the theory that
if slick Willy had done something substantive,
9/11 might not have happened.

Interesting link. The post is really about what the limits of free speech really are.

Personally, I was appalled that the networks would feel it appropriate, in the name of news, to broadcast Bin Laden's call to arms to all Muslims. I would have thought that the dissemination of this form of hate is something any repsonsible member of the press would not engage in. Would they have broadcast a video tape of Hitler calling for all Aryan's to kill all jews? I hope not. The press have become a willing pawn in the dissemination of hate, in the name of News. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The issue relating to Bill Maher getting chastised for expressing an opinion that is not politically correct, in my view, is completely different. These are truly issues of free speech, and censorship. Maher is entitled to his opinions and to broadcast them. These opinions were not designed to incite hatred, but thought.
