Dave, I have seen this hands-on charity done by conservatives I know over and over again. A neighbor of mine has designed an innovative business education curriculum, stayed involved to insure that it actually works, and put over 20 million bucks into it. Another funds, runs and raises support for a hospital in India. And it goes on and on. Liberals seem to either write a check or make their living from doing what they call "charity".
