It might be more accurate to say something like, "If there's one thing telcos know, it's how to nickel and dime their captive customers to death, using the money they shouldn't have to subsidize businesses they shouldn't be in and pay outsized executive salaries".

Edit: Oh, wait, I forgot, they know how to wax eloquent against any government regulation except those that benefit them, keeping their monopoly intact.
