According to the Canadian Govt, they called Bayer and received no response. Twice. Bayer claims no one ever contacted them.

Sounds pretty ridiculous, I'm Bayer - I've got the hot hot drug that everyone wants. Canadian govt calls me; do I ignore them, or do I get my order book open and ready before I even pick up the phone?

The latter, of course.

In tacit admission that it screwed up, govt reverses decision; buys drugs from Bayer for even more; and also is paying out the contract it had set up with the illegal producer of the drug.

And tax payers are out millions and a liberal party campaign contributor (illegal drug co) gets its money despite not having to deliver anything.

And so it goes.
