I didn't say "simply deport them." I said handle "in country", meaning "quietly". How they get to that country is up to us and we have considerable influence there or we extradite them to a country where we do have influence to have them face charges there. Once they are at this destination, they are not subject to OUR Constitutional protections. It isn't "okay" to torture people, but if one was to do that, it better not be on American soil.

This is espionage and there are statutory restrictions about what you can do here. I'm not going to condone torturing people in the U.S. under any circumstances that I can reasonably foresee. That doesn't mean it will never happen. It just isn't condoned, even tacitly. The Constitution that I swore to uphold doesn't allow that. It also defends my right to free speech, even when other people don't like it. That is the difference between US and THEM.
