Rad Source Announces Potential To Irradiate Mail for Anthrax

BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct 22, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- We have received many
inquiries from our stockholders and potential customers as to our ability to
inactivate anthrax in mail. Our design model of a low energy x-ray source
shielded in a small cabinet is capable of effectively irradiating anthrax sent
through the mail.

Rad Source (OTCBB:IRAD) in conjunction with developers of a high output x-ray
source, have concluded that an x-ray irradiator utilizing the combined
technologies of both groups, has the ability to inactivate anthrax spores in
mail. Based on final validation and a formalization of agreements, a small
irradiator the size of a refrigerator using only x-ray (no radioactivity) would
be available in January of 2002. The technology is also scalable to continuous
use without increased shielding.

This accelerated development of the high output technology will give us the
ability to enter food irradiation and medical instrument sterilization markets
much sooner than expected.

Randol Kirk President and CEO of Rad Source Technologies Inc. stated, "In my
opinion every mail room in the country would potentially have a need for our
irradiating technology. The design and pricing of this equipment will make it
easily available to every business, institution or agency in any country that
may require protection for their employees and assets from bio-terrorist
exposure."
