Almost every sentence beginning "if present trends continue" makes a false prediction, because present trends rarely continue. Anyway, for a long while, whites will be the largest part of the population, even if they fall below fifty percent. I will use my own projection: Given the increasing trends towards intermarriage among Asians and Hispanics of the second and third generation, and a more modest upswing of interracial marriages between blacks and whites, many of those "non- whites" will be of mixed race, as in the case of my nephew and two nieces. Further, Asians and Hispanics are showing the usual propensity to vote Republican as they become more affluent. So far, only blacks and Jews remain solidly resistant to such vote switching........
