When we embark on adventurism, poorly planned, lied about, and executed with a careless disregard of the Constitution, I get very nervous. And when it frequently never quite gets to the standard of war, I am really, really nervous. Perhaps the bar will then be lowered to "national emergency" or "national security", the latter being extended in times of peace. Eventually, when Social Security goes insolvent and there are major budget problems and social insurrection, maybe we'll just torture a budget surplus out of people. I am well-off enough that I could go live in Mexico and have my own private estate, with "private security" (a few hundred a month to local constabulary) to ensure my safety using whatever means necessary. THAT is not what I signed up for HERE.
