Ken: I've crunched these numbers many times before. Of the 92 percent contributed by Big Business to political candidates in the '00 election, the spread was about 60 Republican to 40 Democrat. So even if you factor in labor's contribution -- mostly to Democratic candidates -- the total pool of money -- labor and Big Business combined -- was about 55% Republican and 45% Democratic.

Want to ban political contributions from both Big Business and Labor? Fine with me. What I object to are those who scream about the fact that labor contributes to Democratic candidates and don't take the time to look at the big picture.
