>>The officer claims the action was for no other reason other than his close ties and affiliation to Israel. He said this reflected an inherent anti-Semitism in the US intelligence community.<<

Sounds like we got the right guy. I also sense a coming shift in our relationship with Israel.

>>Israel Adds a Complication to Anti-Terror Diplomacy

By harshly denouncing the actions of one of its closest allies, the United States yesterday implicitly acknowledged that its traditional alliance with Israel could gravely complicate its new war on terrorism.

The immediate issue is the Israeli government's military offensive into Palestinian territory on the West Bank, which the State Department called "unacceptable." But a larger strategic issue for the United States is preserving Arab participation in the international coalition that the Bush administration is counting on to facilitate and legitimize its war against fundamentalist Muslim terrorists.<<

Taking a hard line against Israel, getting ready to pounce on Iraq, - are these consistent? And how do they fit with the anti-Saudi Arabia stories being printed these days? Examples of conflicting spin, or a bigger picture that I am not seeing?

Anti-Semitism? Unlikely. He was perhaps a homosexual? The USA doesn't like them in the military. So perhaps that's why.

Or, maybe the obvious reason, they don't trust him not to inform Mossad on his findings and knowledge.

The U.S. has militarily and financially supported Zionism for decades. This policy must stop because it isn't just. When we stop thinking that the state of Israel is a sacred entity, to be preserved at all costs, the reserve major may reasonably feel a conflict of interest. So the revoking of his security clearance makes sense.
