Cary,
I agree with every word of your post and fervently hope that we will be successful and not be subjected to the terror that would open up the can of worms i opened up today. The reason i pursued it, is that having studied it, my belief is that we should all be prepared for worse case scenarios and have thought out responses whether that includes nukes or not. Doing that on the fly by our leadership would be irresponsible and as intelligent citizens we need to think this all thru. I hope i did not offend anyone too much. Mike

I totally agree. You are right on. I think our greatest test will be to make Afghanistan work. But I have the feeling that these folks may be capable of quite a lot given the opportunity. I am constantly reminded that half their doctors were women before the Taliban put them out of business. That speaks well for the society.
