Thanks Sultan. Its no different than in northern Ireland; if you are a moderate and don't want trouble, you don't troop your colours in the wrong part of town.

It is easier to find the rampaging crowd and they make compelling TV for sure.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. We can, perhaps, draw a parallel to our own media coverage of gay communities across the US. Intricate concerns rarely make the front page or the television news, unless they can grab viewers with a hideous eye-catching crime. Of course, there's always coverage of their annual pride marches, though, filled with shots of drag queens and tranvestites -the sensational- giving the impression that this segment of the community stands for all, when that is indeed far from the case.
