i agree with cheif... do it all by hand if you can... that's what i do... you'll get a much better feel for what is going on... then after you get the hang of it, you can move to excell or other computer programs... you gotta work for it... feeding a computer some data and looking at what it spits out is the easy way out... and you never know what the computer is spitting out... just like cheif's example about the daily a/d line being worthless... the phenomenon of one giant step forward and five baby steps back... probably wouldn't have caught that if he had let a computer do it for him... oh yeah... and ask the question 'why?' all the time... for instance, why is the aydis called what it's called... i may never know the real answer to that question, but i have a good idea... (not like it's a big deal).
