Clinton's marriage is of no concern to the United States of America. What Nixon did rated about a 9 on a 10 scale. What Clinton did rated about a 1. Yet the former was allowed to resign without fear of prosecution, while the latter was forced to guide the country the last three years of his presidency with constant fear of prosecution and under a cloud of impeachment.

Ford pardoned Nixon because it was time for the country to move on. (I supported Ford's decision then, and support it now if, in fact, that was indeed the reason, and I have no reason to doubt President Ford, because he was an honorable man.) The Republican Party, on the other hand, deemed it in the best interests of the country to conduct an eight-year witch hunt in the hopes that something could be uncovered to discredit a popular president.

What goes 'round comes 'round.
