Did you see MSNBC's "Mind of a Suicide Bomber"? The Palestinian bombers appear to be mostly down-and-out, depressed kids who are approached by manipulative adults who convince them they can make good of themselves and go to heaven (since they obviously failed on earth). A step down from pimps picking up runaways at a bus station and turning them into drug-addicted prostitutes or porn stars. Except they treat them like stars, taking pictures and making last videos (which can be used to blackmail them to go through with the mission), telling them how their families will be well taken care of, and even staging celebrations afterwards. But their "handlers" don't volunteer for the missions, and one doesn't hear about them recruiting any elderly, does one? For the Palestinians to allow this to go on shows a brutal disregard for their own humanity.

If that were true, there would be a lot more suicide bombings and suicide attacks. I agree that there are too many demented Muslims willing to commit a suicide attack, but I think that the numbers are too far overblown. I found a report of 124 suicide attacks in Israel since 1988; in another over 270 suicide terrorists were counted since 1993. Irrespective of the actual number, its not 'occasional' and these are just one form of attack. That's enough terrorists to carry out one suicide attack in every state of the union, five times in the next year. There are enough Suicide terrorists to warrant a conference on the theme: Suicide Terrorism: Development & Characteristics - cites over 270 suicide attacks, apparently since 1993. Anything with numbers worthy of charts means it isn't occasional. ict.org.il Israel Defense Forces Statistics - "These statistics include casualties that occurred in operational activities or following hostile terrorist operations" You have to look at this. A sobering display of Microsoft Excel charts at use... idf.il Interactive Attack Stats Finder If there is any doubt that life itself is simply different in the M.E. especially in Israeli or Palestinian areas, these easy to use handy dandy charts and stats are just what is needed to convince anyone... Suicide attacks 1998 to present: I came up with 124 attacks but did not take the time to count up all the dead terrorists or victims. You can search on any kind of attack, location, group responsible, etc. ict.org.il Sobering, but so are the non suicide attacks, as there are far more of those.
