Not much really.

I'm the suicide pilot in my little scenario. First thing I do is turn off my transponder. It would probably take ATC at best a minute to discover that I have left the screen. 1st thing ATC does is call me up and ask is there a problem. I respond yes I'm experiencing an electrical problem will check the circuit breakers, I could probably buy another minute. ATC starts to get suspicious and notifies the F-16's that an event is occurring. That will take about 30 seconds. The F-16 's now have to find me ( oh and I picked a day that is something like clouds @ 3000' tops at 8,000). I'm less than 2 minutes from impact. It takes the F-16's about 45 seconds to spot me after I break out of the clouds, I'm about 45 seconds from impact. Trouble is the F-16's are not convieniently in line with my diving airplane and can't fire before "engaging". Sorry, final score F-16's - 0, suicide bomber- 465 congress members.

Leave RNA open, IMO.
