Bookings 644M. So much for the plateau in bookings. Anyone care to guess where and when bookings bottom? I thought we'd seen the bottom at bookings around 725M, just from tech buys from the semis sitting on piles of cash. This may just be a one-month thing. For the last 2 weeks in September, no one was buying mobile homes or cars or doing anything but watching CNN. I'm going to bravely guess that this is the bottom. 644M will be the lowest bookings, it's up from here. Slowly at first, then a rapid ramp by mid-2002.

I vaguely recall a discussion, earlier, about the fraction of semi capex that ends up as semi-equip bookings. About 50%, right?

Hi Justa,

With Boookings and shipments both at new lows in September and "no vision", sure does set up Q4 as the bottom - or else a real surprise must happen in Nov/Dec.My bet is we bottom here in Q 4.

Shades of 1998 all over again - I hope.

Bob
