L. Russell Keene III, 34, Analyst, Keefe Bruyette

New York, Oct. 25 (Bloomberg) -- L. Russell Keene III, 34,
equity analyst, Keefe Bruyette & Woods Inc.

Keene, who was known as Russell, specialized in covering
online securities brokers and dealers such as Knight Trading Group
Inc., E*Trade Group Inc. and Ameritrade Holding Corp.

He and two other analysts who researched securities and
investment companies at Keefe Bruyette, Dean Eberling and Lauren
Smith, moved together from firm to firm through most of their
careers. They all joined Keefe Bruyette in March 2000 from Putnam,
Lovell, de Guardiola & Thornton.

Eberling perished with Keene in the Sept. 11 attack on the
World Trade Center. Smith escaped and survives.

Keene was a native of Louisiana who enjoyed hiking. He once
spent two months trekking through New Zealand.

He is survived by his wife and a 2-year-old daughter who reside in New Jersey.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 3rd in New Jersey.
