Niceguy Re..In fact, the P4 may turn out to be the Edsel of the 21st century... <<<<<<<<<

Edsel may be too strong of a word. But I am in agreement that P4 isn't strong enough to regain Intels marketshare at 80%. It just is too unbalanced of a chip to do all things well. In addition, selling most of the P4 with the i845 could cost Intc in the long run if the chip gets known as a dog, which it seems to be with the i845. Instead of suing Via, Intel should have embraced its 266x4 chipset, until Intc had its own to compete with Via's. And quitting the PIII could hurt also as more people are forced to buy AMD if they don't like the P4. All in all, I like AMD chances right now.
