In the article you post Frontline's view was a miscalculation of what was going on.
"The allies still hoped one of Saddam's generals would overthrow him, but the ill-fated uprising had caused the Iraqi military to rally around Saddam out of fear of something worse. The White House had miscalculated. "

Monday morning hindsight is easy for those talking heads who never said word while events were occurring.

Reality of other monday morning hindsight, binnie raised his murderous head several times during the time of mr. bill and mr. bill miscalculated the danger every time and engaged in policies the lowered the ability of the FBI and CIA to be able to see dangers coming.

but as honor means little to you you will only need to believe frontline.
