<< That will happen when muslims (or others) give more money to the congress and congressional candidates than the jews in this country; >>

Why do you think that 1 billion Muslims can't outsmart a few Jews? You would think that, after 10,000 years of culture, Muslims would be good for something else besides inventing camel dung. <g>

I'm sorry about the joke about Muslims. It's just so funny. All you hear is crying about the power of a small handful of Jews, and the total inability of the Muslims, after thousands of years.

The Muslims cry that the Jews run the newspapers in this country, the media, the congress, the banks, the military, the space program, the arts and sciences......

Who complains about what the Muslims of the world run? Well.... perhaps oil. But the Muslims don't even suck that black stuff out of the ground, American oil companies, run by Jews, do it for them. It must be tough for the Muslims to always be coming in last place.

That's why I joke about Muslims inventing camel dung. It's the only thing left over. <g>

Sorry, IMHO your statement is incorrect. The truth is that Official U.S. Foreign Policy in the ME, changed from relative neutrality to pro Israel during the Nixon Administration (in 1971). Military aid to Israel was $30 million in 1970, in 1971 it was $500 million. In fact, the amount of military aid that Israel received in 1971 was probably 150% more that the total sum of all the military aid the U.S. sent to Israel from 1949 to 1970.

IMHO, the Nixon Administration was fairly pragmatic in its foreign policy than previous administrations - from Chile, to Pakistan, to China, etc.... I believe that there must have been very pragmatic reasons for American support of Israel.

I don't think that Richard Nixon's support of Israel was because he wanted to keep the owners of the Washington Post or New York Times happy.
