OTWW2: WW2, from a finnish point of view, was never an unstable situation, just a changing
one, starting from one state and evolving into another one.

State not meaning nation, but state of miltary, etc power.

But it was good that all of europe wasn't run down by russian land troops and tanks at he end
of it, who knows what would have happened then.
(note that finland was declared russian sphere of interest in the ribbentrop agreement and the
winterwar in 1939, as well as how close finland was to the railroad to and to st Petersburg itself,
and the russian experience of ww1 and napoleon, etc)

Ilmarinen

It all changed with that little sputnik beep-beeping all over the world, the littlle dog Laika, same
weight as a regular nuclear bomb.

And slowly evolved into the sovjet-afghanistan-mujahedin war.
