The presenter stated that CSCO had drasticaly sold its R&D program and sold off the optics part of CSCO to raise cash. Was he correct?

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure this is the correct group in which to discuss Cisco, it seems to be oriented more towards current political events. I will risk offending the group by giving my take on your question though.

While I don't know all the details of what Cisco has been doing, I think the presenter was mistaken. My reason for this statement is that Cisco listed about 17 billion dollars in short and long term investments in their June quarterly report. This doesn't sound like a company that needs to sell it's future to stay in business. Perhaps he has mistaken strategic moves for tactical ones?

that's not true, they did chop some projects and
certain products in order to consolidate and focus
on productivity.

ps: cisco will easily beat estimates when they report.
