>>>Looks like VT's rushing defense is as good as anyone's in the history of the Big East. SU's quarterback RJ Anderson is NOT the greatest passer in the world at this point in his career..he can throw long, but he doesn't have a great medium or short touch.<<<

This is the key IMO. If RJ can pass effectively, you guys have a shot. Otherwise, we win handily. I think we cover the spread (18 currently). VT - 35 Syr - 10

Dear Dennis: What is the story on Nunes; is he the backup QB ? He has around 600 yards for the season. Mungro can always put a 100 yard rushing game on the tally sheet. I agree about VT's rushing defense; they can shut the run down. They are just too quick to the ball; but we have problems on teams that show run; freeze the linebackers and isolate the wide outs on our CB's and throw the 40 yard drop pass over the inside shoulder. But the whole thing boils down to special teams IMO and turnovers ......I'll admit I dont know a thing about SU's special teams.can you fill me in ????? gregor

RJ Anderson (and SU) had a great game, several QB draws had the Hokie's D flummoxed on key third and longs.
An awesome 3rd down conversion pass when the Hokies had him on the ropes put the game away for them. I really wish the VT secondary in one on one would look back for the ball when in coverage. The entire season so far they have not done well in that regard.

The punt return for a TD on the Hokies first series and the turnover on their third for another TD set the tone. Grant was off - throwing several passes low and short and when he had good passes they were dropped. VT was out Beamerballed on Special Teams. Officiating was bad and cost both sides some plays.

I've been a season ticket holder 2 yrs and this is the first Home loss I've experienced. Here's hoping the Hokies go 10-1 and SU punks the Canes like they did VT. Best guess VT falls to #12 and SU gets in the Top 25.
