The problem is Greg, people "know" other people are guilty all the time, only people make mistakes (Ah- how I remember that bombing in Atlanta....). That is why we have a constitution. To protect us from "knowledgeabe" people. In many other countries innocent people are tortured all the time because someone "knows" they are guilty. I wouldn't want to see that here.

I disagree that it was merely 'posturing'. There was a real and credible threat of nuclear delivery to targets within the U.S. as of the early 50's. For more than 10 years this risk only grew. When I was a kid, I always felt that I had a bullseye on my head. I did. Being a child of an aerospace family, everywhere I lived was a high priority target.

The Canadian Government is currently granting itself unlimited powers to usurp personal privacy and then perpetually keep it's secrets from any outside scrutiny.

Yeah, great country Canada. What are the odds of the one person who could split the country in two getting infected with Strep A bacteria? What a bonus it would have been to the west if they did separate. Too bad all the innocent people that were injured in the smoke-screen and follow-up.
