"If thoughtlessness allows absolute truths to ride in on instinct; then fear, cruelty, violence inhumanity, hate and contempt are seated side by side with "love, beauty, god and whatever." I'm afraid I don't follow. If absolutes exist, they are not creations of the mind resulting from thinking. Fear, cruelty, violence, inhumanity hate and contempt are creations of the mind, the result of thinking. "I cannot prove to you that "love" or "hate" are not absolutes." I can't prove that "love" is an absolute but it isn't too difficult to follow the thought processes that lead to hate. "I am moved by those who have the courage to think" If by this you mean those who sail their own ship rather than ride the ship of another, I agree. I just tend to view thinking as a less is more type of thing. Obviously we have to think in order to live but I have seen myself create a lot of undesireable outcomes by thinking about things that quite frankly didn't deserve the time and energy.
