If you look at the massacre of Armenian at Moussadek, the carnage was even greater than the carnage inflicted on the Europe's Jewry, since it occurred in a period of some 40 days or so in which 400,000 Armenian where exterminated (all from memory so these numbers may be corrected by someone more knowledgeable). If the Turks, a much less advanced society with technology of the beginning of the century, could eliminate 400,000 in 40 days, guess what the technologically sophisticated Nazi could do in 1000 days plus. The argument Richnorth and Charter are supporting is that could not be "so" because it is impossible to do "technically" is just an excuse.

As for the possible inaccuracy of the numbers due to emigration in the period of 1945 to 1959 from the Soviet Union and Poland, both countries were pretty "locked up" in that period. Most of the emigration was from other parts of Europe, where the tragedy was not as severe as in that block.
