7:44AM Semi Equip Book/Bill : Merrill Lynch notes that despite increase in book/bill ratio to 0.65 in Sep from 0.63 in Aug, bookings took another leg down to their lowest point of the cycle, most likely reflecting order push-outs after Sep 11; Merrill believes orders have hit their trough, in which case semi equipment stocks might retest recent lows, but not move much below those levels.
