Alan, whatever I do or say is unimportant to the 'powers that be', so far be it for me to have a "real beef" with the US. In fact, I would much rather the US runs the world than Russia, China, Saudi Arabia or anyone else one can think of.

Nevertheless, it is interesting (as an understatement) to observe how the various US administrations have such different foreign policies and, indeed, it is these various and often contradictory approaches that have placed many nations of the world in the hostile position vis a vis the US that they are now.

Anyway, I'm pleased to hear that you saw through the sanctions against SA nonsense and how the sanctions would have hurt the very people they were intended to help.

Believe me those days are past and, if they could, the ANC government of SA would now be applying sanctions on the US and would have declared war on Israel! You would not believe the anti-West rhetoric they are shouting in the parliament.
