We've got far more critical things to take care of on our plate now.

I would be jumping on that bandwagon with you, except that the Republicans, in particular DeLay, Lott, and Barr with the support of Bush, are using the war on terrorism to push all of their ill concieved agenda items, like drilling for a few unecessary drops of oil in the arctic, tax breaks for those who don't need them, and armaments designed for last year's wars. It doesn't matter whether you think there is merit in the programs or not, any party that would use this tragic event to push programs and insist that there be no debate on those programs for national security reasons is the worse kind of scoundrels and deserve to be shown the door. Truman tried to be President of the country, not leader of the right faction of the Republican party. At least half of the current economic troubles are due to Bush & Co. trying to keep hysteria alive until they squeeze as much gain out of the congress as they can. A pox on him and his kind.

mainly the use of the current crisis to further an agenda that has little to do with the crisis and long predated it.
