Ref <I'd like to see the 3 AMDrooges explain to us why SPEC isn't a good benchmark >

Now that AMD has parity in SPECint, SPECint is the only valid benchmark.

SPECfp is a useless benchmark.

:-)

P.S. Intel still leads in SPECfp. Once Intel regains the lead in SPECint with Northwood, SPECint will also be useless.

This is all a game of partisan specmanship.
SPEC has been a "standard" for workstation applications. Consumer applications are another issue, since the consumer application base keeps on evolving. AMD would like to stick to the present consumer applications, Intel would like to stress what it sees as the future applications.
