Nah, that's just a fluke.
Probably CompUSA has never done a Microsoft prebook program before, so of course this is the largest one, even if they only sold 2...

I remember win 95 and what a big splash that was (Rolling Stones, etc). I noted that MSFT says they will pay just as much in advertising for XP rollout.

The rollout starts tomorrow. I am going to a big thing in SF for it.

But where is all the noise? Maybe it is just me but I don't see the massive display of PR that I expected at this time. Are they goig to do ads during the World Series? What famous band or person is going to used? It just seems that the deluge of ads we expected has not yet shown up. Maybe they are waiting for Oct 25 to start the ads?
