Israel arrests two men for assassination of Minister: radio

Two members of a three-man cell were arrested by Israeli troops in the West Bank village of Beit Rima today for the assassination of Tourism Minister Rehavam Zeevi, Israeli radio reported.

It identified the two as Salah Halawi of Azzaryeh village in the West Bank and Mohammed Rimawi of Beit Rima.

The third man, Hamdi Ghuran, was identified both as the killer and the man who recruited the other two.

The report said that a day before the killing, Ghuran had taken a room in the Hyatt Regency, the same east Jerusalem hotel where Zeevi was killed on October 17.

It said he recruited his accomplices two weeks earlier.
