why would the west be inclined to pursue alternatives at this point? Any friendly overture will be interpreted as meddling in their affairs and only engender more wrath. It is exactly the things that you mention (technology, finances, military equipment and political cover) that we have provided to SA that brought OBL's evil eye on to the US. Those are US manufactured fighter planes over there in SA, that cash in their banks is mostly western money that was exchanged for their oil, that communications infrastructure over there is all western technology. I am not sure what you mean about dual citizenship...are you talking solely about the Palestinians? Why would we be inclined to take an alternate route with them? Did you see the footage of the Palestinians celebrating in the streets when the WTC buildings collapsed? A big part of the Muslim world considers us a satanic nation, why should we put on the nice guy hat now? What good will have they brought to the table?
