Hi Bilow, if it makes you more comfortable to totally ignore what i was trying to say then that's your thing. I don't think I was implying that just cause Qualcomm and CDMA proved everyone wrong that Rambus and RDRAM will too. But rather that those doctors of engineering were wrong, wrong, wrong about CDMA. Maybe it was because they had vested interest in seeing CDMA fail & GSM win? Kinda the same as those engineers at Micron, VIA, and AMD want to see RDRAM fail and DDR win? Maybe?

The comparison between Qualcomm and Rambus is disturbing, I am concerned that anyone will be fooled. Rambus came up with a complicated scheme to reduce the number of pins used for a high-speed interface by using more silicon on both sides. Sadly for them, pins subsequently were vastly reduced in cost. Rendering their innovation useless and without value. Qualcomm refined a complicated scheme to pack more voice channels into a given bandwidth by using more silicon on both sides. Bandwidth subsequently got filled up by calls and became more valuable, transforming Qualcomm's innovation from interesting to essential.

True in both cases there is a lot of anger at being forced to deal with the innovator holding patents. Any comparison between Irwin Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi and Rambus patent fraud weasels is odious.

Best regards,
Paul
