, looks all clear to return to the regular AMAT thread.

Give it a day or two and then it will be back to business as usual. I wonder how many people actually read my news items over there versus posts with content such as "AMAT is going to 40 because...."

I think I'll stay here, even if it means I am talking to myself:-)

I never left it. I just go wherever I find interesting discussions.

I don't know if the pattern was ever proven, but there was some talk in past cycles, on some thread or another, about people having noticed that KLIC appeared to start its recovery before the rest of the sector. There was speculation that it might occur because as unit volume picked up, there would be more need for packaging machines. Of course, one could make the same argument about any fab equipment, so I was never completely sure of its validity. I suppose it's possible that when chipmakers slow down their cap-ex, orders for packaging machines might get pushed out preferentially for some reason, creating a need to catch up when utilization of the front end equipment finally starts to rise.
