If you notice, AMD's peak advantage was in the middle of May, which is close to the time when Intel initiated their first large Pentium 4 price cuts. By the second large round of cuts, which occurred around the end of August, AMD had already fallen close to the level of Intel. Now, they are aiming lower than Intel, so I would say that Intel's price cuts have not only slowed the competition, but have also pushed them backward. On the other hand, I don't think graphs like this tell the whole picture. AMD's $190 million loss should be a large enough picture for you.
