craig, there are different levels of grievances. taking down 4 passenger jets, hitting 3 buildings, destroying even more buildings and murdering 5000 people is quite different disagreeing on whether a merger is harmful.

my argument that might makes right anyway is being shown true as we go in and topple a government of another sovereign nation b/c they didn't do what we TOLD them to do without question. no need to reason with them or provide evidence, do as we say, or we crush you - and don't talk back. while this whole situation is very sad, i support our efforts in toppling the taliban and hope for a minimum of civilian casualties. but i do understand the double standard that does exist.

>>whether or not the wto decides in our favor or not if the eu runs to them to complain, our sovereignty would be surrendered. the loss of sovereignty doesn't happen only when the wto decides against our interests, it occurs the minute we allowed them to settle the disputes in the first place.<<

quite correct.

i do maintain that if the US gets really *hurt* by a wto madnate that we will tell them to kiss off in some way, shape or form. in the meantime, i'm not stressing it.

not that i won't have to at some point in the future.
