Strange that no one thinks that the borders in the ME can be drawn again and give each entity / sect it's own country. Why should Kurds forced to share power with Shiat's or Suni's or the other way around ??

As mentioned before those countries are invented by the British and dismantling the present borders may help much more than trying to force those ethnic groups to live together.

It will result in many small countries ??? So what Georgia, Armenia, Tajikistan Baharein Kuwait, Quatar etc. are all small countries.

As to democracy it is relative and works in many places where there are no ethnic clashes, but first must come education and stoping fanatism

Yes, I agree. I forgot to say that. I think you are right that the US just assumed that Saddam was so totally discredited that the Iraqis would depose him.
