Cobalt- OT- I don't have a problem with wstera expressing his opinion. I do wish he had documented his charge. I'm a bit of a Rip van Winkle on SI, but I vaguely recall some controversy surrounding Bilow. But having been involved in my share of controversies, I don't think being involved with controversy necessarily demeans you (it may simply mean you are a bit ornery). I've certainly made my share of acerbic comments: it depends on circumstances. And frankly I think Bilow should have the opportunity to defend himself- but maybe I don't quite have the hang of moderated threads. Moreover, I think it is fitting that people should live by the reputations: frankly I like to have a sense of whom to avoid (I just can't do that unless the poster impugning someone's character includes references). I'd like to expand on that, and say courteous, patient and elequent, to a fault. Personal attacks aren't appropriate here, but as part of thread citizenship perhaps occasional kudos are, to help make clear the goal of our collective "reasoning together". Clearly this takes all of the patience, courtesy, cogent thought and elequence we can muster.

Sorry, just stating the facts. My post had nothing to do with a differing opinion. Bilow is not a gentleman nor a scholar based solely on his posts right here on SI. That is a cold hard fact that should be considered when reading anything he posts & is the sole reason for my post. I sincerely doubt that anyone, including bilow, has the ability or the capacity to be completely honest & forthright on any issue if that person has a long history of blatant lies, manipulation, repeated personal attacks & multiple suspensions for what he has posted right here on SI. Bilow has the capacity to appear to be quite genuine, honest & even appear to be courteous while repeatedly spewing lies & deceit. Oh, & even bilow has admitted to lying on SI. He is quite good at manipulating facts & even better at spin control. I seriously doubt that everything he has posted here is genuine, factual, honest & without any manipulation of the truth. Caveat Emptor - no more - no less
