Thanks for the comments.

I agree the need for storage will continue to increase. And I agree that the "EMC-esque" solutions are more expensive.

I don't agree with the rest of your comments. SCSI has limited bandwith, just like fiber channel. I believe it's even worse that FC, but am not that close to the technology anymore to provide any statistics. Secondly, tripping over a fiber connection could just as easily happen to a power cord, but this event is not a realistic occurence in a well run data center (that's what raised floors help mitigate).

I don't want to stymy your responses, but these two reasons you cite just don't hold water when you look at the advantages (which you failed to mention).
