Xenos Teams with IBM to Deliver An Integrated Enterprise Content Management Solution
Organizations set to benefit from a single integrated solution for legacy data transformation and enterprise content management
TORONTO, Nov. 22 /CNW/ - Xenos (TSE:XNS - news), the data to e-content company, today announces a global software remarketing agreement with IBM for the sale and distribution of Xenos' world-leading transformation software as part of IBM's enterprise content management solution. The agreement follows the successful integration earlier this year of the Xenos d2e (data to e-content) Platform(TM) software with IBM's Content Manager OnDemand V7.1. IBM customers in industries including banking, brokerage, insurance, telecommunications, and utilities can now purchase from IBM a single integrated solution that enables and drives content-based e-business initiatives, such as electronic statement presentment, online billing and online invoicing.
Xenos software transforms legacy printstream formats such as IBM AFP, Xerox Metacode and HP PCL, as well as other legacy data, into electronic content formats, including XML, HTML and PDF.
IBM Content Manager OnDemand software provides high performance capture, presentment, and archive facilities and the infrastructure for electronic bill and invoice presentment and payment (EBPP/EIPP) and electronic statement presentment (ESP) applications. The agreement will enable IBM customers to transform printstreams into popular e-content formats, for archival into and retrieval from IBM Content Manager OnDemand.
"IBM is focused on helping customers collect, manage and distribute all forms of content and link it to core business processes," said Brett MacIntyre, Vice President, IBM Content Management Solutions. "The combination of Xenos' transformation technology and IBM Content Management software enables customers to transform legacy data into e-content to support their enterprise e-business initiatives."
"Organizations increasingly want to buy out-of-the-box solutions and deal with fewer vendors," said Stuart Butts, Chairman, President and CEO of Xenos. "The benefit of combining Xenos and IBM software has already been successfully proven with implementations at several leading organizations. We are delighted that IBM has taken the step to remarket our software worldwide as part of its offering. This exciting new phase of our alliance with IBM provides customers with best of breed transformation technology and a single-vendor touch point for end-to-end enterprise content management."
Symcor Services Inc., a premier North American outsourcing services provider, is one of the first companies worldwide to implement IBM Content Manager OnDemand Version 7.1 incorporating Xenos software. "This combination provides us with the ability to rapidly transform existing printstreams into compelling electronic content that can be stored and retrieved for delivery to the Web," said Wayne Martin, CIO of Symcor. "This will enable us to enhance the communication strategies of our customers and maintain our competitive advantage."
META Group, a leading research and consulting firm that focuses on business transformation, estimates that the enterprise content management market will grow by more than 25 percent annually to over US$10 billion by 2004. Andrew Warzecha, Senior Vice President at META Group, a leading research and consulting firm which focuses business transformation, commented: "Software that augments enterprise content management platforms for specific tactical requirements, such as legacy data transformation, will be vital as enterprise content management becomes an increasingly strategic infrastructure requirement for most large organizations by 2004."
