Dear Tgptndr:

Re: "The desktop was were much of the action and results were focused this quarter. Customer response to our accelerated roadmap has been very positive. Pentium 4 processor unit shipments quadrupled this quarter and crossed over Pentium 3 unit shipments two weeks ago."

This could be accomplished by reducing the production of P3s below that of P4s for the months prior. Or changing the name of P3s that were produced to Celerons or even simply stop packaging desktop P3s at all. The above statement does not have to mean P4 sales rose in Q4, but P3 sales fell.

The vagueness serves to just envelop in fog anyone else to make any sense of the statement. Sort of like P4s clock higher means they work faster than the competition. If that were true, Intel should halt all IA-64 development.

Pete

And what's your interpretation of this statement?
