The GOP economic stimulus plan reminds me of the movie "Gladiator," when the Romans wheeled out the carts of bread before the games and threw the baked goods into the audience. Keep the masses happy through a $600 tax cut, but pitch the "real tax relief" to the rich and to Big Business. In the meantime, we're bordering on deficit spending again ... if not already in the mode. (Where's Ross Perot these days?) The last paragraph of the WSJ story I posted is interesting. Seems that the White House doesn't even know exactly what it wants in regard to Round 2 of the economic stimulus plan.
