Excellent site. I now have it bookmarked. Didn't the carpenters union drop out of the AFL-CIO in the not-too-distant-past? Still, the carpenters gave $2.87M to Democratic candidates, zilch to GOP candidates (God bless them), offsetting the $2M difference that Philip Morris gave to GOP candidates.

In any event, as I pointed out yesterday, the amount of political donations to either party doesn't bother me too much. More and more Americans every year are "tuning out" political ads. The fortunes of the Republican Party over the next few years will hinge on economic recovery. People -- especially the tens of thousands recently laid off -- still remember the healthy economy of '92-'00.
