So you don't see Gray Davis as a white knight for Enron? Come on, where's your imagination?!? ;-)

Hi kb,

Thanks for the comparison on ENE to DBL and LTCM. I remember reading about some of the FRB-NY President Wm. Corrigan's caustic comments on DBL at the time. I'm pretty sure that the shady shenanigans of Lay-Fastow and their Cayman partnerships will get a similar jaundiced appraisal.
I notice today that Fitch's has decided to take a peek under the hood, joining with Moody's. And the tort lawyers are salivating over one of the biggest prizes of the decade. Hmmm, the biggest chumps seem to be the Janus Funds. They're starting to remind me of the gang that couldn't shoot straight. They did wonders for their clients with some high tech disasters last year. A stunning consistency on display.

EnergyNewsLive didn't seem to get too worked up about the ENE situation today. Perhaps the Yahoo poster who was speculating on counterparty risks has overstated the case? Tomorrow is options expiration for the month and I'd have expected more fireworks today if ENE were in serious jeopardy. Looks like we'll settle the NG contracts right at around $3.00/mcf. A price that will insure "MaxPain(TM)" for the retail speculators in the contract. Bidness as usual.
