The former thread head mentioned he was using 2 firewall
programs several months ago, I believe it was in March.
A thread search for firewalls only goes back to May. I
know he was using Zone Alarm maybe someone else remembers
the 2nd one he was using. Most routers include a firewall
so people who use routers and ZoneAlarm do have "double protection". Adding Norton AV gives you a solid defensive line.

mr.mark was using either two or three firewalls at the same time. Extra layers of protection can be useful but you should also be aware of the drag on resources that may occur and the possibility of conflicts between various firewalls. I believe mark was running zonealarm, black ice defender and norton security at the same time without problems I am aware of. I personally don't see the value of too many layers but that is just a personal observation, not a recommendation.
