>> craig, there are different levels of grievances. taking down 4 passenger jets, hitting 3 buildings, destroying even more buildings and murdering 5000 people is quite different disagreeing on whether a merger is harmful. <<

ok, but you are the one who used the term "trade war", as if it was something to be avoided at all costs. if we can engage in conventional war and carpet bomb places around the globe what is so terrible about a "trade war"? a trade war is just tough negotiating, far less harmful than dropping bombs wouldn't you say? of course my stance is that if we negotiate from a position of strength (ala reagan), it won't have to result in a "trade war" to begin with. it would make it even less beneficial for other countries to enter into a "trade war" with the US considering we are the most lucrative market on the planet and they would be more hurt than us by a trade war.

>> i do maintain that if the US gets really *hurt* by a wto madnate that we will tell them to kiss off in some way, shape or form. in the meantime, i'm not stressing it. <<

we have been hurt by our wilsonian, globalist, free trade policies. there are numerous examples, the latest was 9/11. one day america will be served a great wake up call and our country will right itself and decide that this utopian free trade internationalist new world order vision was a giant mistake. it just hasn't quite reached a head yet. give it about 5 or 10 more years.

Can you imagine New York if 80 percent of the people left town.
